It all began when I needed a new mattress. I went to quite a
few bed shops where the salespeople explained all the differences in the huge
number of mattresses they had on display, and I was totally confused.

I was told one had natural fibres, one had cooling gel, one was all foam, one had 1000 springs another 2000 springs, one was tufted, one was 8 inches deep another 10 inches deep, one was firm another soft, one was breathable, one had edge to edge support and I was told all the reasons why each different mattress would be good for me.

Now I was completely confused and I asked why all these different benefits are not in one mattress and why the prices were so high (many were over £2500 !!) and I was told that each different mattress specialised on one area and the price depended on the brand.

I came away thinking surely buying a mattress with every sleep benefit included should be made available at an affordable price and I decided to try and develop one.

I contacted and went to visit a very reputable mattress manufacturer in the UK (Members of The National Bed Federation) to discuss my ideas for developing The Ultimate Mattress.

We spoke about how people on average spend a quarter to a third of their lives
(6-8 hours a day) sleeping on a mattress and how important sleep is as it
relaxes, recharges and rejuvenates the body.

I asked if all the different sleeping benefits I’d been told
